A Technology Business Incubator (TBI) cell under the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) was inaugurated at Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College here recently.
Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary, Minister of State for MSME inaugurated the TBI cell. V.S.K. Venkatachalapathy, Director-cum-principal welcomed the gathering. M. Dhanasekaran, Chairman and Managing Director of Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College presided over.
In his special address, Mr. Chaudhary said that the Union Government was providing constant support to students to enhance their technical skills, to invent and produce society-oriented equipment/tools and to start their own business.
He advised the students to make effective use of the TBI cell.
The Centre has been extending subsidy to youth from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 10 lakh under the MUDRA scheme to enable them to start their own business.
The Startup India Scheme has attracted multi-national companies to invest and start their industries in India, he added.
Representatives of MSMEs from Chennai and Puducherry participated.
